Build an igloo – your team event in wintertime

Build an igloo by yourself is the dream of many of us. But what does it actually need? Snow of course. The relevant tools make building an igloo also much easier. But most importantly, it requires a working and harmonizing team. Only if all participants work together, the igloo can be built within the defined time. Otherwise, only a convertible igloo will be built :). But no worries, there's no lack of fun in this great winter adventure. Our igloo construction masters will teach you the theory and the technique in a relaxed way and as a team you will create your masterpiece - a classically built igloo with the Inuit technique.

Build an igloo – this is what you get

  1. Preparation: With the igloo building master you will walk to the perfect spot to build an igloo. You will learn which snow conditions make it easier and what else you have to consider when choosing the location.
  2. Snow blocks: You need the right snow blocks to build an igloo with the Inuit technique. Our igloo construction guide shows you how to get compact blocks and how to transport them without damage.
  3. Igloo construction: The most important thing now is to set the snow blocks with the right technique, sequence and shape. The igloo construction master will give you the helpful instructions regarding foundation, radius, contact surfaces, raising the walls, closing the igloo dome and shoveling the entrance.
  4. Plugging holes: Once you have covered the igloo and shoveled out the entrance, you can plug the small gaps or holes. Now you can also start decorating the igloo. Measure yourself with the other teams. Who has the most beautiful self-built igloo?
